Want to make a difference to a young person's whole life?
Charity EBP South makes it eminently possible
Some of you will know that I have been a trustee at EBP South for a number of years. EBP stands for Education Business Partnership, and our mission is to inspire and prepare young people (aged 4-18) for the world of work.
We do this by working closely with education establishments and businesses on a whole range of mutually-beneficial activities.
EBP South is encouraging experienced workers to make a New Year’s Resolution to volunteer for an activity which will make a significant difference to a young person's life. No matter what your job role or job title, your experience is invaluable.
Opportunities include in-school activities, 'guess my job', interview skills, mock interviews, speed networking and on-going mentoring. You can support EBP South in our mission by making another important connection between education and business; to help students broaden their horizons to reach their future potential.
From EBP's latest newsletter, here's a quote from Emily, a Business Volunteer, who said “It was lovely to be a part of the Friday [event] at Purbrook. Thank you for being so welcoming and organised. The lesson plans and props were amazing. As a volunteer it was a huge help to be able to walk into something well thought out and structured.”
