Users are king

Another relatively small but important investment is spending time finding out what results your user wants from visiting your site.

This usually clarifies what the site should contain, and how it should be organised.

In our experience, around 85% of executives have not given much thought to how the content is going to be put together, or what it needs to contain.  We’ve seen people go through serious frustration and delay at this point.

How much better to develop a site and write content that’s what your users want?

We can plug into your customers if you need us to – and this need not take long, add much cost or be complicated.  Of course, you and your team can carry out this work and we’re always happy to give you advice on how best to do it.

What does it mean in practical terms?

You supply us with contact details for some clients, having firstly gained their permission for us to ask them some questions. You also supply us with details of ideal target customers, (whether they know you or not).

We then contact customers and targets alike and ask them questions in a combination of three ways:

  • Focus Group(s) where we sit a group of them down for a couple of hours for questions and open discussion (this is not always practical or appropriate, so we might:)
  • Telephone them individually for questions and open discussion
  • Email them with a short questionnaire
