LCM’s involvement helps to make collaborative event a success
Over 300 delegates from the region’s technology sector and fast growth businesses attended the event which was held at Southampton’s City Cruise Terminal, to learn how collaboration has provided a catalyst for innovation and economic growth, and to be inspired by like-minded entrepreneurs.
LCM were heavily involved in the promotion of the event:
- designing the C2I logo
- writing and disributing all press material
- writing, designing and producing invitations and programmes
- designing and producing internal signage
- Providing other branded collateral including clothing and giveaway bags
We also had an exhibition stand and 1-2-1 advice area, and our strategy consultant David Bridger also ran a workshop, with the University of Portsmouth, on developing a marketing strategy for innovative companies.
Highlights at C2I 2009 included inspiring keynote talks from Ian Gotts, founder of Nimbus and Carl Churchill, who set up his first business when he was 12 and is now Commercial Director for the Eastleigh-based murphx. The event also saw the launch of the Solent Innovation and Growth Team, a £2.6m SEEDA investment to help drive accelerated growth in the region’s businesses.
C2I 2009 was organised by Solent Synergy Limited, the not-for-profit organisation set up to help innovative businesses grow and succeed in the region, with the backing of some of the city’s most recognised organisations; BDO LLP, Paris Smith LLP and Lloyd’s Register.
Nigel Vaughan, CEO of Solent Synergy Limited, said: “This is the first event of this kind in the Solent region and it has been a huge success. Our aim was to highlight how collaboration with other businesses can help organisations become more innovative, overcome obstacles and build financial stability for the future and it did just that. It also highlighted what a vibrant region we have in terms of innovation.”
