LCM to help local businesses tweet for success with upcoming Portsmouth University seminar

13 September 2010 by Zoe Mitchell

Later on this month, we're joining forces with our friends, the recruitment giant ARM to deliver a free practical seminar at Portsmouth University on maximising the use of social media in B2B marketing.

Our very own Lizz Clarke will be leading a seminar on how organisations can make the most of social media in the B2B marketing environment and present a range of opportunities available within the channel. She will be joined by e-Marketing Executive Sam Hill from Havant-based recruitment consultancy ARM who will give a brief overview of how ARM have been employing social media and the practical implications, and rewards of integrating social media into an organisation’s PR plan. Also speaking at the event is Tom Chapman, Principal lecturer in eMarketing at University of Portsmouth, who will present research evidence on what good practice is proving effective. Following the presentation, Lizz, Sam and Tom will be taking questions as part of an open discussion forum.

Looking forward to the event, Lizz said:

“We know from our own experience that employing social media can have a positive impact on the bottom line for organisations in the B2B sphere. Social media is growing all the time and so are the opportunities it presents. We’re keen to share our knowledge and help local businesses thrive within this vibrant new channel.”

 Sam Hill added:

“With many organisations adapting to the changing social environment, ARM is keen to enhance our marketing strategy and take advantage of the opportunities that social media presents. We believe the development and implementation of a social media strategy, in collaboration with the overall marketing plan, can offer some fantastic rewards.“

The seminar takes place on 22nd September between 6pm and 8pm. For more information and to reserve your place, contact Allyson Hunt at Portsmouth University or book online at http://www.port.ac.uk/research/ceri/events/
