Social media is what the internet is all about. When the internet first came along it appeared to be a ‘master of all trades’ – a TV, an encyclopaedia, a newspaper and a book all rolled into one. But now the internet is not about presenting content; it’s about sharing content.

Social media allows us quickly and easily to share the things and ideas that we care about with the people we care about.

As an organisation – of whatever size or type - you have lots to share: products you love, ideas you love and you want to share this with the people you care about (your customers and business associates).

And because social media is all about sharing it isn’t only another marketing channel – it is an amplifier of all of your other marketing channels.

Come along to our seminar to find out more, to get answers to your questions, and to see how LCM can help you to use Social Media to your benefit. Email sue@lcm.co.uk to book your place.

More and more business across the South are recognising that digital marketing plays an integral role in the marketing mix and that businesses who don’t make a concerted effort to have their websites leaping and dancing around at the top of the Google rankings, do so at their own peril.

Unfortunately, staying ahead of the digital game, not only takes time, but also continual perseverance as search engines constantly change their algorithms which calculate whose website should display at the top of their search list. So, LCM has launched a new SEO package to take away this burden from business managers, leaving them to concentrate on product and service delivery.

The new product is headed by LCM’s ‘Web Comms’ champion, Colin Salt who has vowed to take on the Matrix and do battle with search engines, keywords and inbound links to ensure client’s websites are easily found by their target audiences.

Colin comments: “the secret is keyword selection – it drives the whole SEO process and shouldn’t be done in 10 minutes by one person. Poor keywords will lead to the entire process failing. Many businesses simply can’t find the time however, but it is good to see they understand the value of SEO are coming to us for help.”

Colin graduated from Bournemouth University with a degree in Leisure Marketing in 2002 and joined LCM from the fast-paced world of travel, where he spent 4 years as tailor-made holiday specialists. Since then, he has gained considerable knowledge and experience working with some of our larger and long-standing clients and has a flair for building professional and friendly working relationships, driving web projects, and his copywriting skill and marketing knowledge make him the ideal Web manager for clients who need that skill on tap rather than in house.

At LCM we’ve been inundated with requests for more help with PR, and in response we’ve beefed up our PR team to offer a range of solutions.

The team is headed up by our press and social media expert Zoe Mitchell, who has extensive experience of media management in consumer and specialist markets, great strengths in copywriting and is also a fount of knowledge on the uses of social media for PR projects. Zoe is supported by LCM favourite Michelle, who has moved on from her original role as an administrator after showing a significant flair for press work. Michelle has a strong network of contacts in the media from her years working at LCM, and combined with her great writing skills and determination to get the coverage clients need, she’s a PR force to be reckoned with. The third member of the team is LCM new recruit Sue Gorrett, who has experience of PR and media relations on a global scale and has strengths in creative execution, multimedia work and extensive experience in product launches. Like the rest of the team, Sue will stop at nothing to get the job done.

The team take each PR challenge and analyse the best way for a client to meet their objectives – whether it’s raising awareness of an event or demonstrating thought leadership in the market. They use all the tools and techniques at their disposal to help clients communicate clearly. Speaking about the team, Zoe said:

“We’re delighted to have been able to expand the PR team, and it’s great to be working with such great people to get the best result for our clients. We don’t see the current media landscape as the end of the road for PR. On the contrary, it’s a chance for organisations to work with us and demonstrate their forward thinking attitude by developing a dynamic approach to positive communications. Because we’re always looking for new opportunities, we can help our clients stay ahead of their competitors, and we’re never afraid to take on a new challenge.”

If you have ever found yourself facing a situation that could potentially damage your organisation’s brand, then you need PR superheroes to keep your integrity and reputation intact.

Over the past 20 years we have helped many organisations to overcome potentially brand damaging situations, whether it is a disgruntled employee going to a national newspaper or even a death in a supported housing service, in fact almost every eventuality apart from a burst oil well in the Gulf of Mexico – but perhaps BP should have given us a call!

We have good relationships with the media, we know what information they will require and they trust us. So in most instances we can quash a story before it makes the newspapers by having all the facts in place and a statement at the ready, or we can be well prepared ensuring we know who needs to be the organisation’s ‘voice’ and what they need to stay. This attitude and stance can sometimes result in gaining positive press.

We have recently produced some ‘PR Crisis Support’ business cards carrying all the contact details you will ever need in a potential crisis. So, if you would like us to send you a handful of these, or you know someone who might need us in an emergency, please email Zoe Mitchell with your full name, email address, organisation’s name and postal address and we will get them off in the post to you.

Altitude Partners LLP, the south's first regionally-based private equity, has appointed LCM to provide a range of integrated marketing services to help successfully launch the organisation.

The private equity funded, based in Southampton, officially launched today as the newly designed and built website went live and a media and direct marketing campaign got underway.

Work began back at the beginning of the year as we worked closely with Altitude Partners to establish targets and what route to market would best suit that audience and of course, fit within the budget.

A featured case study will be appearing on the website soon.
